Society Mission.
The Dolphin Society is an Australian-based, non-profit
research foundation dedicated to exploring the effects on humans
of interaction with dolphins, facilitating a process of discovering
the ‘Dolphin Within’. The Society was established to
research the effects on humans of interaction with dolphins. These
effects can be seen on various levels – physiological, psychological
ad spiritual – and suggest that new methods of healing and
self-development can be developed through a knowledge of how they
work.
The Society’s activities include:
1. Developing and undertaking a program of research
into the effects on people of interaction with dolphins. Spreading
an awareness of these effects by pulbicising the results of the
research, and possible applications thereof.
2. Establishing a Dolphin Therapy Centre at the Quarantine Station,
Manly, Sydney Australia.
3. Encouraging conservation of dolphin habitats and in particular
facilitating the return of dolphins to Sydney Harbour.
